thank you we love you and your spirit - Please join us  for our  2nd CAMP SIS reno run SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24th 24th HIGH PARK 5km  run/walk/wheel    10am

 
Dear Sisters  ,  thank you-  welalin - meegwitch , for   the  love  you shred  for all you have done   with  and  for  camp sis  it is  yours and all of ours . No one  can really own land or  air or water . It is in this egalitarian  equality seeking spirit that we   volunteer for  camp sis . A safe  peaceful healing space   community for   women.  We have been  very  busy this summer continuing to  see  more women  coming to   camp sis  to build camp sis  this  safe  peaceful beautiful 75  acres  owned   and run by  community  volunteers  for all women We   put in  a stove  ( propane0 were able to  do  some plumbing ( thanks  Deanne  and Junior)  build new  steps  and   put  up a gazebo and  Continue  planting organic garden and  clearing  the  roads . We  need to  continue to insulate  the second for the  sisters who will be up there in the  winter

 INFO ON CAMP SIS    CAMP SIS is on 75 acres just two hours north of Toronto. It is a very spiritual ground with plenty of sunshine, lovely rolling meadows, old growth forest with a natural spring, beaver pond, and an organic garden. The Camp was bought in 1994 and built by Women of Colour and their women allies. MWIC is a place for healing, education, and the arts.  Non-profit fundraising has always been and remains our only source of income to pay taxes etc. The staff is made up of volunteers. It is non-profit community owned and we have built two large barn style pine buildings on the land (each building is approximately 40 x 30).  The land is COMMUNITY  OWNED organized and facilitated by the Toronto Women Of Colour Collective . The past few summers CAMP SIS has been used as a get away healing space for six nations and aboriginal women. The group would like to be able to use the CAMP all year, so this is a shout out to  make this happen.  We are looking   or monies to buy goods. Insulation for the walls and roof ,vapor barrier, tongue and groove wood to cover walls and inside roof ,propane fridge,well,  flooring furnace (pipes)  Wood stove (4 cords hardwood)  Cupboards / sleeping bags / bed frames  Solar lights....
