It is a very spiritual ground with plenty of sunshine, lovely rolling meadows, old growth forest with a natural spring, beaver pond, and an organic garden. The Camp was bought in 1994 and built by Women of Colour and their women allies. MWIC is a place for healing, education, and the arts. Non-profit fundraising has always been and remains our only source of income to pay taxes etc. The staff is made up of volunteers. It is non-profit community owned and we have built two large barn style pine buildings on the land (each building is approximately 40 x 30). The land is COMMUNITY OWNED organized and facilitated by the Toronto Women Of Colour Collective .
